About Society for Information Management

Society for Information Management (SIM) is a premier organization that enriches a network of IT leaders through knowledge exchange and dialogue.

Headquartered in Mount Laurel, NJ, SIM hosts a vast business and technology leaders network. SIM offers peer-to-peer connections at interest groups, in-person technology community gatherings, peer groups, and local chapters nationwide. Annually, SIM holds the Chapter Leader Awards to formally recognize members who contribute to their local chapter's growth, advancement, and excellence. Additionally, SIM hosts four to six regional and national in-person events.

SIM offers many benefits to its members. These include access to exclusive research and insights to stay ahead of industry trends and make informed decisions. Members can also access professional development opportunities through Advanced Practices Council (APC), SIM Leadership Institute, and RLF Programs, including training and certification programs.

SIM has four member categories: Practitioner, Academic, Consultant, and Other Leader. Practitioners are senior-level IT professionals in either a public or private sector organization. Academics are full-time faculty members, consultants are leaders at the partner or principal level, and other leaders are non-IT executives who play a significant role in shaping strategic IT direction.

Prospective members can complete an online application to join their local chapter. If there is no local chapter in your area, you may join SIM as a Member-At-Large.

Corporate, non-profit, and academic institutions may purchase group memberships, with costs ranging from $240 to $1,000, depending on member count.

Individual membership fees vary based on type, ranging from $150 to $395 per year.
